Desert Flower

The Desert Flower game experience takes players on a journey through a creative world where flowers and plants become weapons, tools and building materials.

The combined strengths of the two characters allows players to overcome obstacles in their quest to bring balance and life back to a dead world.

By shaping and combining plants, and by exploring, collecting and collaborating, the players feel a rich sense of empowerment and creative control of their game experience.

This creative control enables self-expression as the players craft and design individual, one-of-a-kind gardens and invite their friends to visit.

As the players move through the campaign, they gain access to new seeds, enabling new gameplay. Suddenly the player can destroy that cracked wall by their mountain home, gaining access to new areas to explore, grow in, and marvel at!

Gaining the bounce-seed, the players are enabled to jump over a raging river, finally meeting up with, and testing their botanical knowledge against one of the guardian beasts.

When needing a break from the campaign, the players can go back to their cottage and use their newfound plants to create obstacle courses or maybe just stunning gardens which other players can visit and enjoy.

A focus on creativity in the problem solving, allowing multiple paths through the campaign and varying solutions to the different obstacles. It’s never supposed to be difficult to get from point A to point B, but some extra thinking might be required.

  • Cutting enables more growth in defined directions as most plants have a max area of growth.
  • Petrification of a plant stops some functions, while enabling others.
    • The flowers no longer purify the air, but can now be walked on.
    • The bouncy bridge is hardened, stopping the players from bouncing away, and enabling them to crawl into a small passage

Moving through the campaign the players not only find different seeds, but also alterations to these seeds.

Through experimentation the players make groundbreaking changes to their plants, completely altering the way they look, or even grow.

However, The seed’s core functionality is always intact. If your seed was a climber, no matter what alterations you add to the plant, it will always be a climber at its core.

Alterations are critical for the players in order to move through the game, but it also provides experimentation to find new fun, functional or whimsical plants, which is a large part of the sandbox gameplay and the Desert Flower experience!

  • Sandbox environments & UGC
    • Gardens can be cultivated using seeds and alterations discovered in the campaign.
    • Players can invite friends to explore their garden creations, from bouncy lawns to dangerous smog-filled forests, offering a more wide, unique and engaging experience the more friends they have.
  • Unique looking campaigns
    • Random spawning of visual alterations ensures every playthrough looks different.
    • Open ended obstacles ensures that watching a stream hypes & inspires more playtime, rather than makes the players feel like they’ve proxy played the game already.

Are you ready to shape your own destiny and explore a world of creativity and adventure? Sign up for the Desert Flower pre-alpha now to experience the magic of botanical alchemy!
